Looking to add to your summer load? Feeling like you can take on just a tad more? Well, hurry because the last day to add a class is this Thurs., July 9. You’ll need the signature of both the instructor and dean to do it, so don’t wait until the last minute.

Just a reminder that the $15 fee to add or drop a class goes into effect Wed., July 1. As of Wed., students now also need the signature of both the instructor and dean to add a class, and any dropped classes will now show on your record as a “W.”

Come out of the heatwave and in to the Bookstore where it is cool and get refreshed with ice cream! We have a large assortment of Blue Bunny ice cream flavors including ice cream sandwiches, Strawberry Shortcake and the new Mississippi Mud. Yum yum!

Tutoring Services is up and running for the quarter!
We’re open from 8-5 p.m. Mon-Thurs. Students can come to room 4203 (in the library) to fill out an application for tutoring or complete an application online here.
You can also check out the hours for the various learning centers around campus here.

Join us for the opening reception for Pho to gra phs., an exhibit of work from SCC’s student, staff and faculty photographers now showing in the PUB gallery on campus at Shoreline Community College. The reception is Thurs., June 25 from 3-5 p.m. in the PUB gallery. The reception will include light refreshments, and hand bound publications of the exhibit will be available for sale.
The Photo Club fully encouraged and supported Pho to gra phs. by conducting mat cutting workshops and best presentation practices. Frames and other materials were provided through grant funding from SCC’s Student Leadership Center to ensure that the cost of materials would not discourage any students from participating. They hope to make this gallery show an annual event.
Pho to gra phs. will be showing in the gallery in the Pagoda Union Building on campus at Shoreline Community College from now until August 14. Gallery hours are Mon-Thurs, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Writing and Learning Studio’s summer hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mon-Thurs. (closed Fri-Sun). The studio closes for the quarter on August 12.
The studio’s director, Grace Rhodes, is off campus during the summer, however, Eliza Bryant, a studio learning assistant for the past three years, will act as Tutor Supervisor for summer quarter. Eliza has an M.A. in art history and a B.A. in English literature, so you’re in great hands!

New to Canvas? eLearning Services is offering one more face-to-face orientation session for Summer students.
Please join us to learn the basics of using Canvas for online course work. This session will cover everything from how to login to Canvas to submitting assignments and checking your grades.
The final session is Tues., June 23 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Room 1301.

Intramurals for summer quarter start Tues., June 23 with yoga offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-12:50. If the weather is nice, yoga will meet by the river rock between the theater and the library. Otherwise, yoga will meet in room 3025 of the Athletics building. Intramurals are free to students and staff of SCC.
