Here are the events happening on campus the week of Feb. 12. 

Mon., Feb. 12

College Rep visit – UW Tacoma: Table in PUB
Mon., Feb. 12: 11am-1pm
College representatives will be at Shoreline’s campus to meet with interested students. Reps will discuss topics such as academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures for their college. They can answer other questions students may have too.

Applications for graduation are due on Fri., Feb. 16. If you have questions about the process, advisors will be out and about to provide guidance. They’ll also be available to answer any questions you have about the College, transferring, or degree planning.

Lunar New Year Celebration: PUB 9208
Thurs., Feb. 15: 11:30am-1:30pm
The Chinese Culture Club is going to host this year’s Lunar New Year Celebration in a new format that actively engages with attendees in learning how people in China celebrate this most important traditional festival during the entire lunar month. Join us to celebrate the start of the Year of the Dog and enjoy a variety of traditional food and activities. This event is free and open to the community.

Palestinians, Israelis, Jerusalem – Peace or Continued Conflict?: PUB 9208
Thurs., Feb. 15: 7-8:30pm
The Middle East has been a hotspot for decades, full of seemingly intractable problems and frustration for every U.S. Administration since World War II. Recently, U.S. President Trump announced the intention to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Will this further inflame the conflict, especially between Israelis and Palestinians? Speaker Dr. Joel Migdal, who just returned from two years living and working in the Middle East, will give his take.
