One World, Many Songs, First Lutheran Church of Richmond
Wed., June 8: 7:30 p.m.
Please join us on Wed., June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach for the final Shoreline Community College Choir Concert of the year. The Chamber Chorale and Shoreline Singers will perform choral music from Austria, England, Syria, America, and more.
This will also be Dr. Fred Lokken’s farewell concert as Director of Choral Music at the college. After 18 years of teaching and conducting at Shoreline Community College, Fred is stepping down as choir director.
Alumni of the Chamber Chorale and Shoreline Singers have been invited to perform with the current choirs in two encore pieces under Dr. Lokken’s direction. Shoreline Community College is hosting its Annual Athletic Banquet and Silent Auction on June 10 at 6:30pm in the PUB Main Dining Room. This banquet celebrates all of the Academic and Athletic success of our Shoreline student-athletes from the 2015-16 school year.
The event begins with a silent auction at 6:30pm. Our Shoreline coaches, Athletic Director Steve Eskridge, and the Athletic department staff will be auctioning off gift baskets as a fundraiser for Shoreline Athletics. The auction is followed by dinner and awards at 7:30pm.
Tickets for this event are $20 and include dinner. Seniors, students, children, and Shoreline Community College staff/faculty can get a discounted ticket for $15. All Shoreline Community College student-athletes receive free admission to this event. If you would like to attend you can pick up your ticket in the Athletic Department Offices in the 3000 Building.

Head to the gym Thurs., June 2 at 1:30 p.m. to watch the exciting finals of the Troy Wolff Memorial Basketball Tournament. This tournament benefits the Troy Wolff Memorial Humanities Scholarship Fund and Shoreline Community College Food Pantry.

The NWAC announced the North Region All-Stars and Gold Glove awards over the weekend and 3 Phins were honored. Sophomore Pete Pennylegion made the North Region All-Stars 2nd Team as an Infielder and was recognized for his work in the field with a Gold Glove. Pennylegion hit .326 on the season and was second on the team with 46 hits and 25 runs scored. He was even better in the field where Pennylegion only had 1 error in 34 games at Second Base.
Two freshman Phins joined Pennylegion on the North Region All-Stars 2nd team. David Becker was honored as an infielder after a strong season where he hit .338 and led the Phins with 50 hits, 14 doubles, and 25 RBIs. Chantz Justice was named to the 2nd Team as an outfielder.
Justice hit .281 and led the Phins with 26 runs scored. Justice also pitched 16 innings on the year leading the Phins with a 1.65 ERA.

A genial and lighthearted affair, in which a New York-based Jewish-Argentinian man returns to the Once district of Buenos Aires for Purim, reconnecting with his father, his faith, his native community, and his heart.

Campus services are closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday, but the Theater is open for SIFF showings.
Veterans’ day at SIFF:
40 free tickets are available for veterans to use on Mon., May 30 to any of four films showing on Shoreline’s campus on Mon., May 30 – Memorial Day.
These tickets are offered first come, first served – tickets must be picked up by noon on May 27 in the Foundation office or by seeing Mary Brueggeman on May 30 in the Main theater lobby. Please have military ID to show when picking up tickets. These free tickets for veterans are made available courtesy of Chuck Olson Chevrolet-Kia and Girandola Tools for Entrepreneurs.

Fresh off the most successful season since 2012 – 5 Phins were recognized as North Region All-Stars by the North Region Softball Coaches. Four Phins were named to the first team. Sophomore Emily Jackson was the lone infielder recognized for the Phins on the North region Softball All-Stars First Team. Jackson hit .396 on the year and let the team with 10 doubles. Defensively Jackson boasted a .855 Fielding Percentage to go with 46 assists and just 12 errors on the year.
The three remaining Phins on the North Region Softball All-Stars First were all freshmen. Catcher Drew Camacho hit .407 on the year with 9 extra base hits and 16 RBIs. Camacho had 9 assists on the year with only 1 error in 153 innings behind the plate. Pitcher and Designated Player Kathryn Goff recived First team recognition for her work as a batter. Goff led the Phins with a .422 batting average and 34 RBIs. She had 13 extra base hits on the year and only struck out 6 times in 102 at bats. Right Fielder Shelby Reyes made the First team as an outfielder. Reyes hit .402 on the year with 32 RBIs and a team leading 14 extra base hits.
Sophomore Center Fielder Sarah Casel was named to the North Region All-Stars Second Team following a Freshmen campaign where she was named to the North Region All-Stars First Team. This year Casel hit .375 with a team leading 31 runs scored and 28 stolen bases. She played 214 innings in Center Field without recording an error.
