Promised Land is an award-winning 2016 documentary film about the ongoing struggle for federal recognition of the Chinook Indian Nation and the Duwamish Tribe.
The film examines a larger problem in the way that the government and society still look at tribal sovereignty.
It will be shown at the college theatre at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline WA 98133 on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 2pm

All current SCC students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in the college’s fall catalytic converter engraving event. With catalytic converter thefts on the rise, do your part by getting yours engraved for FREE! The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 9am-2pm in the lower event parking lot (south of the 2000 bldg./VCT/Art bldg.). Spaces are limited, and cars will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Want to level up your leadership game? Join Student Life this fall for our Leadership Certificate Series and gain valuable skills and insight that will help you to be a better student, leader, and citizen. Join us for the following workshops:


Oct. 4 – Leadership Kickoff
Oct. 18 – Identity & Intersectionality
Nov. 1 – Ethics & Values
Nov. 15 – Emotional Intelligence
Nov. 29 – Bias & Blind Spots

Participants at each workshop will be entered into a drawing at the end of the quarter for a $50 Amazon gift card, and anyone who attends at least 4 workshops during fall will receive a certificate.
