The event is free, and you can attend either in-person OR remotely via Zoom.

The 50th Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) is happening May 9-19!

ANIDA YOEU ALI

Body as Site
This workshop is intended to stimulate dialogue on transnationalism and creativity through the medium of performance. Participants will develop performances unique to their body, stories, experiences and various spaces they inhabit.

Transcending the In-Between
Anida Yoeu Ali will present a hybrid performance/talk and visual experience on themes of transnationalism, otherness, and belonging. The presentation will include poetry, videos, and images from her current exhibition.

Anida Yoeu Ali is in interdisciplinary artist whose works span performance, installation, new media, public encounters, and political agitation. Raised in Chicago and born in Cambodia, she is a woman of mixed heritage with Malay, Cham, Khmer, and Thai ancestry. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to artmaking, her installation and performance works investigate the artistic, spiritual and political collisions of a hybrid transnational identity. 


SEATTLE BLACK PANTHERS: FIGHT FOR JUSTICE & FREEDOM

Join us for a special screening of:
Seattle Black Panthers Fight for Justice & Freedom

Director Rick Dupree and founder member of the Seattle Black Panthers, Elmer Dixon, will be in attendance. The evening will also include a spoken word performance by Sharon Nyree Williams.

Are you thinking about dropping a class?

Dropping a class now will result in a “W” showing on your transcript for withdrawal, but it will not count in computing your GPA. If you choose to drop a class, you will be charged a $15 add/drop fee.

The last day to drop a class this quarter with a “W” is May 15, 2024. After this date, no “W” will be given.


Are You Receiving Financial Aid?
Please check with the Financial Aid office before dropping any classes as your aid may be impacted.   

Are You Receiving GI Bill Benefits?
Please check in with the Veteran & Military Student Services Office before dropping any classes as your benefits may be impacted.


To drop a class: 

  1. Email your instructor and ask for permission to drop. 
  2. Email the name & number of the course you’d like to drop, along with your instructor’s permission, to Enrollment Services at EnrollmentServices@Shoreline.edu and we will process the drop for you.

We are looking for students who are passionate about helping their peers be successful in both their academic and personal lives.

The Shoreline Community College Foundation’s summer quarter 2024 scholarship application is now open. See the instructions below on how to apply. 

Each year the Shoreline Community College Foundation awards over 200 scholarships to students attending Shoreline Community College. Scholarship awards range from $200 to $2,500. 

Full-time, part-time, international, and undocumented students are eligible to apply. 

IMPORTANT DATE: 
The deadline to apply for summer quarter scholarships is June 6, 2024. 

To get started:

  1. Create your user account. If you created a user account in the past, sign-in with the credentials you used when setting up your account. 
  2. Click “Register.” 
  3. Enter all of the required information, click the agreement box, then click the “Create Account” button. 
  4. Once registration is complete, you will be directed to your Dashboard. 

Application Instructions

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Click the “Start Application” button to begin filling out your application. 
  3. Click the “Submit Application” button in the lower right corner (Note: The “Submit Application” button is disabled until the application is complete). 
  4. You will be directed back to your Dashboard where you will see the number of scholarships to which you have been automatically applied. 
  5. You may be eligible for additional scholarships that require additional information. The Dashboard will prompt you to provide this by showing a number in the “Items requiring completion” box. 
  6. After completing all follow-up items for the scholarship, click the “Resubmit Application” button to submit your application (Note: If there are no follow-up items that need to be completed, you do not need to resubmit your application).

Green banner includes the words "Your Vote Matters ASG Elections," as well as the forum date and voting timeline that are included in the blog post.

All SCC students are invited to participate in this year’s ASG Presidential elections. Help choose the student who will represent you and lead your student government in the upcoming year!

Voting will run from Wednesday, May 1st through Friday, May 10th!

The ASG President provides overall direction and leadership for student government, including:

  • Serving as chair for ASG Board Meetings
  • Serving as a liaison and representative voice for all Shoreline students to college faculty, staff, administration, and Board of Trustees
  • Support fellow ASG members as they respond to and address issues impacting students’ Shoreline experience

Student Life will host an Open Forum on Wednesday, May 1st at 1pm in PUB 9208 to give you an opportunity to meet the candidates and hear about their vision for Shoreline next year.
 
Beginning on May 1st at 2:00pm, you can review candidate profiles and cast your vote HEREVoting will remain open until Friday, May 10th at 5pm.
