Free tax help for students Wed., April 12

United Way of King County will be hosting a free, one-day tax event at Shoreline Community College for students, faculty, and staff! Wed., April 12 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Workforce Computer Lab (FOSS Building, 5101).

If you make less than $64,000, United Way of King County will help you prepare and file your taxes for free. Our free tax experts will help you get all the credits you qualify for and file your return electronically, so you’ll get your refund fast.

What to bring:

    • Social Security Card/ITIN letters for everyone on the return (required)
    • Photo ID (required)
    • All tax statements, such as W-2 form, 1099 form, SSA-1099 form, etc. (required)
    • Health insurance forms: 1095-A (required), 1095-B (required if available), or 1095-C (required if available)
    • Bank account number and routing number (recommended)
    • A copy of last year’s return (recommended)

Limitations:

    • We cannot help if clients have sold stock of capital gains or losses.
    • We cannot help if clients have rental income.
    • We cannot help if clients have F1 visa (international students).
    • We cannot help those who want to dispute or contest an IRS letter or finding.
    • We cannot prepare partnership, S or C corporation tax returns.
    • We cannot prepare state returns.
  • We cannot help with Washington B&O tax.
