GAC Presents: The Iranian Nuclear Deal – Preventing a Weapons Program? Thurs., Oct. 6

iranian-dealGAC: The Iranian Nuclear Deal – Preventing a Weapons Program?, PUB 9208
Thurs., Oct. 6: 7-8:30 p.m.

Come to a talk featuring Dr. Halvor A Undem, University of Washington, Jackson School of International Studies, and former Advisor to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In 2015, a landmark nuclear deal was reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers (the United States, Great Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany).  Crippling economic sanctions on Iran would be lifted once the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) certified that Iran had restricted its sensitive nuclear activities.  The White House says the deal will prevent Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. Iran says it has the right to nuclear energy – and stresses that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
