Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, Shoreline Community College will be closed to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. On this day, we pause to join our nation in honoring the life and legacy of an African-American leader whose vision of freedom and justice continues to inspire us.

At Shoreline, we are dedicated to creating a campus environment that reflects excellence in education, equity, inclusiveness, and self-reflection. As we remember Dr. King’s lifelong example and tireless work for equality, may his words that inspire our Community Standard remind us that our actions make a positive difference in the lives we touch each day.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly …” — Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Respectfully,
Cheryl Roberts, Ed.D.
