Italian for Beginners: Learning for travel or fun!
Planning a trip to Italy? Curious about the language and culture? Or simply looking for a fun way to learn something new? This beginner-friendly course introduces students to practical Italian language skills and cultural insights in a relaxed, engaging environment. No previous knowledge of Italian is required, and no textbook is needed. Over eight interactive classes, students will build confidence in everyday communication while exploring Italian customs, food, travel, and daily life. The emphasis is on useful vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation practice, and cultural context. This class is in a hybrid format: First and last classes offered both in person and live online; all other classes meet online only.
Vittoria Todisco is a native Italian speaker, born and raised in Puglia, in southern Italy. Although her academic and professional background is in marine biology, education and mentoring have been an important part of her career. She holds a PhD in Fish Ecology and has years of experience mentoring university students, presenting to diverse audiences, and has years of experience mentoring university students, presenting to diverse audiences, and working in international and multicultural environments
