Welcome to Summer Quarter 2026!

As we work our way through the first week of the quarter, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide some tips from the Department of Campus Safety.

Parking

The grace period for students to purchase parking permits ends Monday, 7/6. Citations for lack of permit will begin on Monday, 7/6. During the grace period, visitor lot violations, ADA violations, parking in multiple stalls, parking in assigned spots/lots, and other illegal and hazardous violations will still be cited.

Beginning Monday, July 6th, 2026, permits are required to park on campus weekdays during the quarter, Monday – Thursday from 6:00am – 4:00pm, excluding holidays.

Students can purchase parking permits in Student Finance (aka Cashiers), located on the second Floor of Bldg. 5000 (FOSS). When purchasing their permit, students will need to provide their vehicle make, model, and license plate number.

Campus Safety

We have a uniformed Campus Safety Officer on campus and on-duty 24/7/365. Our personnel are trained and equipped to respond to a vast variety of calls that include, but are not limited to: basic first aid, medical emergencies, security emergencies, and calls for assistance.

If you require medical assistance, DO NOT GO TO THE NURSING BUILDING. You can come to the Campus Safety in Room 5102 (first floor of FOSS) or call Campus Safety and an officer will come to you.

  • Office: (206) 546-4633 (during college business hours)
  • Officer On-Duty/24 Hour Line: (206) 235-5860 (for immediate assistance)

Courtesy Services

Our department provides vehicle lockout assistance, vehicle jumpstarts, security escorts, and more!

Campus Shuttle now makes stops at the North Shoreline/185 Link Light Rail Station. The shuttle makes stops throughout the school day, between 8:00am and 3:00pm. You may call the shuttle driver (if needed), at: (206) 759-1768 (this phone is only answered between 8am-3pm).

Campus Shuttle Stops (on a continuous route, or as needed):

  • Shoreline North/185 Station (once an hour from 8am-3pm, Monday-Friday, at the start of the hour)
  • Rapid Ride E Line (N 160th St. & Aurora Ave N)
  • Greenwood Lot
  • Building 1000/King County Metro Bus Stop
  • Building 1900 Roundabout
  • Building 2100/Building 2300 Roundabout

Naloxone Stations: There are stations across campus that provide free naloxone (opioid overdose medication), fentanyl testing strips, and educational information in accordance with House Bill 2112 (23-24). These supplies are provided at no cost to students, staff, and community members. Please take only what you need. These stations are located at: Counseling Center (5000), Bldg. 9000 second-floor Restrooms, Bldg. 6000 first-floor Avanti vending area, Bldg. 4000 outside the main entrance, Bldg. 4000 outside of the second-floor Restrooms, and Bldg. 7000 second-floor Elevator Lobby (resident access required).

Tips

Here are a few tips that can help you in having a wonderful experience here at Shoreline:

  • STOP! If you haven’t already, save the after-hours Campus Safety number in your phone now! 206-235-5860.
  • Park in high traffic and well-lit areas.
  • Remove all valuables from your vehicle and remove items from view.
    • Even if a bag only has dirty gym clothes in it, a prowler may break in hoping it contains valuables.
  • If you observe a suspicious person or vehicle on campus, call security.
  • Always keep your phone and photo ID on your person if you need to contact assistance.
  • If you witness or observe concerning behavior or posts on social media, report it to Campus Safety by calling the office or after-hours number.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Do not report injuries, criminal activity, or request immediate assistance via email, as email is only monitored during office hours.

For questions, please call us at: (206) 546-4633, email campus.safety@shoreline.edu, or visit us on campus at 5102 (Campus Safety) during college business hours.

We want to provide an update regarding the nationwide Canvas data security incident.

While some colleges may have begun restoring access to Canvas, Shoreline College will continue restricting Canvas access through the weekend out of an abundance of caution while additional security reviews are completed. College leadership will reconvene on Monday morning at 8:00am to determine next steps and will provide an update shortly thereafter.

Your instructors should contact you via email with updates related to your courses, so please check your email regularly for important information.

To make sure your instructors can reach you, please make sure your email address is correct in ctcLink.

Beware of increased phishing attempts! As part of this incident, users at other colleges have reported receiving phishing emails from opportunistic “bad actors” claiming to possess personal data and demanding payment. These messages are fraudulent phishing attempts.

Please remain vigilant and keep the following guidance in mind:

  • Do not click links or open attachments in suspicious emails or messages
  • Do not respond to messages demanding payment or personal information
  • Never share passwords, verification codes, or other sensitive information through email

If you notice any other unusual activity related to your college accounts, please submit a request for assistance to the college’s tech support team.

We understand this situation is disruptive and appreciate your patience as we work to protect student information and campus systems.

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the recent passing of a current Shoreline College student, Fabio Carlos.

Starting in ELL, Fabio attended Shoreline for several years, most recently in the Nursing program. While there are no details for a memorial service at this time, the program is planning a recognition for his contributions and impact as a student and classmate.

This loss is heartbreaking, and we recognize the impact it may have on many of you as fellow Shoreline students.

If you need support during this time, we encourage you to lean on the resources available to you, including:

  • Shoreline College Counseling Center: 206-546-4594
  • King County 24-hour crisis line: 866-427-4747
  • Snohomish County 24-hour crisis line: 800-584-3578
  • Crisis Lifeline: Text 988 from any U.S. cell phone

TSS would like to provide an update regarding student accounts. All student email accounts have now been successfully migrated from Google to the Microsoft platform. During this process, usernames have remained the same; however, the email domain has changed from @go.shoreline.edu to @shoreline.edu.

As part of this transition, Multifactor Authentication (MFA)is now required for all accounts to help protect your information. Emails and files from your Google Drive were migrated to Microsoft Outlook and OneDrive, respectively. Please note that certain items, such as file link shortcuts or files with excessively long names may not have transferred due to compatibility issues.

If you believe some files did not migrate automatically, please contact the TSS department for assistance in recovering those items by Friday, January 23rd. You may also visit the support page for help.

Thank you for your attention to this update. We hope you have a wonderful rest of your week.

We’re excited to welcome so many of you to campus this week as Winter Quarter gets underway. At the same time, we want to share an important update.

Due to a local Microsoft outage, the college is still experiencing limited access to email and phone systems. While our teams work with Microsoft to fully restore services, we’ve put additional support options in place to help you this week.

Please note that ctcLink and Canvas are not impacted by the outage, so you should be able to register if need be, and begin your classes.

Here’s how you can get help right now:

Zoom Room Student Support (Extended)
Based on positive feedback, we are continuing Zoom support through the end of the week, rather than ending it earlier as planned.

Temporary Student Support Email Addresses
We’ve also set up temporary Gmail accounts that staff are actively monitoring:

Please use these email addresses for questions or support until our Microsoft systems are fully restored.

We truly appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through this disruption. Our goal is to support you as smoothly as possible, and we’re grateful for your understanding as we do so.

Thank you for being part of the Shoreline community.

Happy New Year, Dolphins!

We are still experiencing technical difficulties related to a Microsoft outage and want to share a few important updates as we prepare for Winter Quarter, which begins this Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

The College is open and we are happy to meet with you in person or via Zoom (see information below) but are unable to receive phone calls or emails.

Please review the information below carefully.

Dolphin Day Update

The Winter 2026 in-person Dolphin Day scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2026 has been cancelled so our staff can focus on providing direct one-on-one support to students during this time.

  • You are welcome to attend the Spring 2026 Dolphin Day to learn more about campus services. The date will be posted on our website soon.
  • The Virtual Dolphin Day has been rescheduled to Monday, January 5, 2026 from 6:30–8:30 p.m.
  • This session is designed for online students, but all students are welcome.
  • If you were planning to attend the in-person event, we’d love to have you join us virtually.
  • RSVP and details are available here: https://www.shoreline.edu/advising/dolphin-day.aspx

Financial Aid Update

Due to the ongoing Microsoft outage, financial aid disbursements anticipated to begin on Friday, January 2, 2026 may be delayed. Processing of recent loan requests and responses to email may also take longer than usual.

Live Zoom Support

To better support students during this time and as Winter Quarter begins, we will be offering additional live Zoom support for questions.

We are monitoring updates from Microsoft and will share more information as services are restored.

Winter quarter classes start this Monday, Jan. 5. We look forward to seeing you on campus next week and appreciate your understanding.

Warm regards,

Shoreline Community College
Student Affairs Team

Please join Veteran & Military Student Services in celebrating Veterans Day by adding to our Veterans Appreciation Wall!

Bring a photo (copies are preferred, but we can also make them as needed) or just write something to honor a Veteran in your life, whether they are a friend, a student, a family member, or even yourself.

The Wall will be up in front of the Veterans Resource Center (FOSS 5225A) through the end of November.

Photos can be dropped off at the VRC or by email to militaryservices@shoreline.edu.

Let’s fill the wall and show our student veterans we appreciate their service! Please reach out to VMSS at militaryservices@shoreline.edu if you have any questions.
