The Research Track of The Honors College at Shoreline is designed to offer a challenging curriculum for students planning to transfer to four-year institutions of higher learning or who simply wish to deepen their college experience. Join us for a free afternoon concert featuring performances of music students enrolled in the Jazz Improvisation class directed by our award-winning music faculty, Steve Kim. The band is typically comprised of students playing guitar, bass, drum, keys/piano, and various horns. We may even feature a vocalist or two.
Listening to LIVE music in the middle of your day is a great way to take a break and become inspired.

Volunteer drop-in at campus garden: Deep Roots Garden, near the 2400 building

Drop in and help out at the Deep Roots Community Garden located next to the 2400 building. Come for the whole hour or only 15 minutes. It will feel good to do some tending, weeding, planting, and growing. Volunteers check in at the Greenhouse. Gloves and tools provided.

Off We Fly Now: Campus Theater, 1600 Bldg

Shoreline Community College Theater presents the world premiere of Off We Fly Now, which will be performed as a mixed media experience in collaboration with Shoreline’s Visual Communications Program to combine live action with animation.
Snow White, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Sleeping Beauty, have found a way to escape from their centuries-old fairy tales. Arriving in the “real world,” they quickly attract the attention of the media and the public. As the four attempt to discover the meaning of life, they end up becoming reality show celebrities. Then they begin to realize that the real world, similar to the fairy tale world, is full of tricks and traps. Fame, love, youth, and marriage are each unsolved riddles.
Off We Fly Now challenges the boundaries between fairy tales and the truth. Perhaps, after all, the tales were written to prepare us for life in the real world.
Kaleidoscope – Choir Concert: Off-campus at First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach

An exciting list of repertoire accompanies the program “Kaleidoscope” presented by Shoreline Community Colleges’ Chamber Chorale and Shoreline Singers directed by Evan Norberg. With works by Antonio Vivaldi, John Gardner, Dave Barduhn, Vijay Singh, Keith Hampton, Take 6, Northwest’s own Morten Lauridsen, and more, the concert is a blend of many styles rolled and toppled to create one amazing program!

Students hope to receive an Outstanding Performance acknowledgement or an Honorary Performance acknowledgement. Outstanding Performance students will later perform their winning piece at an Honors Recital. Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is free.
Multicultural Center End-of-Quarter Potluck: Off-campus at Greenlake Park

Multicultural Center’s End-of-the-Quarter potluck recognizes student achievements within the recognized student organizations (RSO) clubs on Shoreline Community College’s campus. Students taking private vocal lessons will perform a selected piece before a jury of vocal instructors who will evaluate their performance. The audience at jury examinations is often comprised of music faculty, friends and family members of the performers, fellow vocal students, and members of the community. Students hope to receive an Outstanding Performance acknowledgement or an Honorary Performance acknowledgement. Outstanding Performance students will later perform their winning piece at an Honors Recital. Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is free.

Piano students taking private instruction lessons will perform a solo for the music faculty and their musical peers as a final exam. Community members are welcome to attend this performance in support of our music students. Admission is free.

Come celebrate our tremendous Shoreline Community College student-athletes at our annual Athletic Banquet and Silent Auction. There will be a catered dinner, silent auction items to bid on, awards, and tons of Phin Pride!
Coaches and athletic staff are auctioning off gift baskets as a fundraiser for SCC Athletics. Silent Auction begins at 6:00PM, dinner at 6:30PM.

This vocal concert is the final performance of the quarter for students enrolled in Voice Classes. The students choose their own solo piece to perform and there will also be small vocal ensembles performing. Students have been working hard to develop their stage presence as well as their vocal skills. The music selections for this recital range from present day composers to Early Baroque pieces.
Performers are always energized by appearing in front of an audience, so we hope to fill the room with supportive faces! Everyone is welcome to attend!
