Join us in celebrating the Opening Night of SIFF’s run at Shoreline with a wine tasting at 5:30 p.m. in the Main Campus Theater followed by a 7 p.m. screening of The Tenth Man. After the film at 8:30 p.m., the Foundation will host an After Party in the PUB Main Dining Room. Tickets and more info can be found on the Foundation page.

A genial and lighthearted affair, in which a New York-based Jewish-Argentinian man returns to the Once district of Buenos Aires for Purim, reconnecting with his father, his faith, his native community, and his heart.

SIFF presents “Belle and Sebastian, the Adventure Continues,” Main Theater
Sat., May 28: 1 p.m.
In a new chapter of the beloved saga of Belle & Sebastian (SIFF 2014), the now-10-year-old hero and his brave, shaggy dog embark on an exciting adventure to rescue Sebastian’s mom, who is lost after her plane crashes deep in the forest. Recommended for ages 7+ (includes limited foul language; some scenes [including large-scale forest fires] may be scary; plane crash; threatening animals).

SIFF presents “Beware the Slenderman,” Main Theater
Sun., May 29: 12:30 p.m.
An insightful, infuriating, heartbreaking, and gripping true-crime documentary delving into the brutal stabbing of a 12-year-old Wisconsin girl by her best friends, who claimed they were influenced by an internet bogeyman known as “the Slenderman.”

SIFF presents “The Intervention,” Main Theater

Actress Clea DuVall’s directorial debut is a modern twist on The Big Chill, with a top-notch indie cast portraying a group of friends whose reunion getaway goes south when it is revealed that the trip was orchestrated as an intervention for one troubled marriage.

SIFF presents “The Final Master,” Main Theater
Sun., May 29: 6:30 p.m.
A Wing Chun master must singlehandedly take on a town full of martial-arts schools jockeying for dominance through realistic, bone-crunching hand-to-hand combat in this action-packed film from the writer of Wong Kar-wai’s The Grandmaster.

SIFF presents “The Lure,” Main Theater
Sun., May 29: 9:15 p.m.
A fanciful horror-tinged New Wave rock opera transpires when a pair of bewitching mermaids emerge from the sea to join a Warsaw nightclub act, then face some cruel, bloody choices when one of them falls in love with a handsome young bass player.

Campus services are closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday, but the Theater is open for SIFF showings.
Veterans’ day at SIFF:
40 free tickets are available for veterans to use on Mon., May 30 to any of four films showing on Shoreline’s campus on Mon., May 30 – Memorial Day.
These tickets are offered first come, first served – tickets must be picked up by noon on May 27 in the Foundation office or by seeing Mary Brueggeman on May 30 in the Main theater lobby. Thanks to generous sponsors through the Shoreline Community College Foundation, some free tickets are available for some SIFF shows. Free tickets are available on a first come, first-served basis in the Foundation office in the Administration (1000) building on the date specified. The free tickets are as follows:
40 free tickets are available for veterans to use on Mon., May 30 to any of four films showing on Shoreline’s campus on Mon., May 30 – Memorial Day.
These tickets are offered first come, first served – tickets must be picked up by noon on May 27 in the Foundation office or by seeing Mary Brueggeman on May 30 in the Main theater lobby. 20 free tickets are available for faculty/teachers to use on Sat., Jun 4 at one of the four films shown on June 4. These tickets are available first come, first served – tickets must be picked up by 4 p.m. on Fri., June 3 in the Foundation office. All members of the Shoreline Community College Class of 2016 – whether you graduated this past winter or are graduating this spring/summer/fall of 2016 – are invited to participate in a video celebrating you and your accomplishment! The video will be shown far and wide, including at the 2016 Commencement Ceremony on June 5. So come be a star!
We will be filming this Thurs. May 26 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the PUB courtyard.
Filming will be a snap – it’ll take about two minutes of your time. We just want to know what you’re doing after Shoreline, whether that be going to a four-year school, on a life adventure, to work, taking some time off – whatever! We’ll film you holding up a sign that says “UW” or “Peace Corps” or “running away with the circus” or “taking a much-needed break” or “making the world a better place” or whatever is true for you, and then you’ll be on your merry way. Sound easy? It is! You don’t even have to say a word if you don’t want to!
We’ll have some signs pre-made and will have additional materials on hand to make signs if we don’t have a pre-made one that fits for you. Just stop by the PUB courtyard between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. this Thurs., May 26 and look for the people with the camera!
The more the merrier – so bring your friends! We can’t wait to see you there and hear all about where you’ll be going next after Shoreline.
