The last day to receive a 100% refund for a dropped class for Winter quarter is Fri., Jan. 8. It is also the last day students will be able to make changes to their class schedule online. If you know you want to drop a class, please make sure to do so before close of business on Fri., Jan. 8 to ensure a full refund.

Join us this Fri., Jan. 8 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Workforce Education office (bottom floor of FOSS, 5000 bldg.) for this week’s Roundtable: Get Hired by CSR Marine!
For our immediate area, 2016 is looking to be a huge boating year, and Shilshole Bay will be hopping!
If you like sailing or just working in a boating environment with a casual crew, CSR’s Scott Anderson will be on hand to let you know what it’s all about.
With two boatyards in the greater Seattle area, even during slow times, CSR is always seeking out qualified applicants to fill a variety of roles, from Travelift operators, painters, laminators to office staff, riggers and electronics installers. Scott will let you know how it all works. If you prefer the south end, there are also CSR possibilities in Des Moines.
Also on Friday, we’ll talk a bit about hiring and job trends, with Employment Specialist, Stephanie Tschanz for 2016, and just reconnect from the couple Fridays we were off.
Will be good to see you! As we’re dead-center of High Coffee Season, expect some delectable brew and the usual dunkables.

Job & Career Services (J&CS) is excited to continue our workshop series this term – this quarter’s workshop topics were developed from student feedback and interest! J&CS is a collaboration between Advising Services, Counseling Services, eLearning Services, and Workforce Education. Workshops focus on supporting students in career development and readiness. Free service for students! Have a speech or presentation coming up in a class? The Public Speaking Center can help!
The Shoreline Community College Public Speaking Center offers peer-to-peer coaching for a variety of oral communication situations. It is a space to refine presentation skills, ask questions, and practice speaking in front of a live audience. The PSC is staffed by student volunteer coaches so appointments are required. Beginning the 2nd week of winter quarter, 20-minute coaching appointments are available Monday-Friday from 8am-12:20pm in room 2515 and 12:30-2pm in room 1814. Project Textbook is a pilot program to provide one (1) copy of each textbook in order to help students succeed. Come ask where the Reserves desk is to check out a textbook for two (2) hours!

The Shoreline Dolphins aren’t just performing on the field and on the court, but in the classroom as well! With the Fall quarter completed and Winter quarter underway, it’s time to recognize our Phins and their prowess in the classroom. The highest Team GPA of the Fall Quarter was a 3.17 by the Volleyball team. The highest male GPA for the Fall Quarter was earned by Men’s Soccer player Tony Tran with a 3.95. The highest female GPA for the Fall Quarter was a 3.9 from Women’s Soccer player Shey Thompson. Below are all the team leaders for the Fall Quarter:
