Have a ton of school spirit and want to cheer your Dolphins on to victory? Try out to be part of the Shoreline cheer club, which cheers at all home basketball games (for both men’s and women’s teams).
We’re also looking for an energetic person to be Dolphie the mascot at home basketball games. Men and women are welcome to try out for both the cheer club and to be Dolphie. Tryouts are Monday through Wednesday October 5-7 from 3-6 p.m. in the Athletics building in rooms 3025 and 3011. Email Stacie Attridge at sattridge@shoreline.edu with any questions.
Go Phins!

This month gives us an opportunity to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. The theme for this year — which marks 70 years since the first observance — is “My Disability is One Part of Who I Am.”
Shoreline Community College — through a collaboration between the Office of Special Services, the Disability Awareness Society and the Associated Students of Shoreline — will be celebrating Disability Employment Awareness month and will be providing disability related tips and information each day to help raise awareness and encourage people to see beyond a person’s disability and see the person, not just their disability.
And you can even win a gift certificate to the bookstore by taking part in our weekly quote contest! Every Monday in October (starting Mon., Oct. 5), we’ll hand out a quote written in braille and American Sign Language. Contestants have until the following Friday afternoon to submit an entry form with that quote translated into written English. Anyone submitting an entry form will be entered into a drawing to win a $10 gift card to the bookstore. Drawings for the prize will be held Fridays at 3 p.m.
New quotes, entry forms and cheat sheets! (copies of the braille alphabet and the American Sign Language alphabet) are provided and will be available for pick up at the Bookstore, Office of Special Services (OSS) in FOSS 5226 and at the Community Integration and Employment Program office in room 2910.
Stay tuned for more information!!!!!

For the Library and 4102 Student Computer Lab, in order to print documents, you need to have a Student ID Card. You may get your 1st one free in the Library. If you lose it, there is a charge for a replacement.
As a student you need to add funds to this SID Card. There are “Value Add Stations” that accept $1, and other bills – just be aware that these machines do not give change back. Also they do not accept debit, credit cards or change.
On our computers, when you go to print, please make sure the appropriate printer is chosen. (Library and 4102 lab are different.)
When you click print, a dialog box appears. Please put your name in the box (no real need for a password) as this is how you will find your print job when you walk over to our printers.
Once you send a print job to the print queue, you walk to the printer, swipe your SID Card, put in your password, find your document by the name you typed in and click print. This also deducts the 4 cents per black and white page and gives you your balance at the bottom of the screen.

Shoreline is developing a community standard statement to communicate the values that we as a campus community pledge to uphold. We have a draft of that statement ready, and we’d like your feedback on it. Please read the draft of the statement online here and then take the very brief survey below it. The survey closes Oct. 9, with a finalized statement expected later in fall quarter.
Your input is necessary to creating a campus environment that is comfortable and inclusive to everyone. We thank you for your time and help – it’s greatly appreciated!

Starting this Fall 2015, the fee for black and white printing is now 4 cents per page. The small fee increase was OK’d by the Shoreline Community College Student Government and applies to all student printing campus-wide but does not affect color printing, which is still at 50 cents per page.
For help understanding how to go about using the printing services on campus, the folks in the library and in the student computer lab are happy to help!
Thanks,
Technology Support Services
