You may notice these new signs popping up around campus, marking areas as public or restricted:
Some offices on campus handle confidential student and employee information. As part of our commitment to student privacy, we’ve placed signs around campus to clarify which areas are open to the public.
Nothing has changed in terms of student access – our public areas and student services remain open and available to you. We’re simply taking this extra step to ensure the privacy and security of our student and employee records.
If you have any questions or need help navigating campus, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Just a reminder: we’re seeking your feedback about changing the name of our college from Shoreline Community College to Shoreline College, and the deadline to vote is near.
We’ve put together a brief survey that outlines some of the key reasons people support or oppose the change and asks for your vote.
This survey closes at8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, April 24, 2025.

It’s been quite a year at Shoreline Community College!
From the grand opening of the Cedar Building, groundbreaking for the new Bracken Building, and the launch of our first bachelor’s degree, it’s an exciting time of change and growth for the college.
That’s why this feels like the right time to consider making another change, and we want your input.
Shoreline Community College is considering updating our name to Shoreline College.
Our name represents who we are as an institution, and it should embody our mission, reflect our growth, and position us for success into the future.
In recent years, many colleges in our area and across the country have undergone similar name changes to reflect their broader missions and expanding academic offerings.
However, we recognize that this type of change requires thoughtful consideration, and your voice is a vital part of the decision-making process.
So, we want to hear from you. Should we keep our current name or is it time for a change?
Click here to see some of the most compelling arguments to consider – in support and in opposition – and then cast your vote. Voting is open until 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, 4/24/2025.
Thank you for being part of this important decision!
