Sign-up to Audition for “Gale” a world premiere of a new play by Emily Golden

https://www.shoreline.edu/theater/auditions/default.aspx

Auditions will be held on 9/19 & 9/20 from 5:30-8:00pm.

Participation in this production requires signing up for at least one of the following classes: Drama 207, 208, or 209 for fall quarter

Synopsis

Gale tells the story of seventeen-year-old Gale Winters, who, after losing her home in Iowa due to a derecho (a severe massive windstorm), is sent to live with her 2 married aunts near Seattle, while her parents stay behind to rebuild. Now Gale must navigate a new school in her senior year, contend with a group of mean girls (cheerleaders), and come to terms with the fact that her beloved dog, Stormy has gone missing. All while dealing with the trauma of losing her home to a massive climate event. In this modern reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, it is a story filled with both humor and a deeper message about loss, friendship, the devastating effects of climate change, and the true meaning of home.

The artwork in this exhibition represents the culmination of two years of skill development, research, and creative problem solving. Many of the student artists represented in this exhibition have completed the requirements for an Associate of Fine Arts degree, a two-year program of study and training in the visual arts.

Here at Shoreline, we have had the privilege of watching these students progress from their first realizations of their passion for art-making to developing an individual focus and personal vision. Please join us for food and music as we celebrate these diverse and innovative voices!
