Looking for a creative break from your studies? Join Shoreline Community College’s Learn to Weave on a Tabletop Loom workshop and discover the art of weaving in just one day. Whether you’re new to fiber arts or looking to expand your skills, this hands-on class will teach you the basics, including loom setup, color changes, and finishing techniques. By the end of the session, you’ll have woven your own cotton washcloths and gained the skills to create scarves, pillow covers, towels, and more.
The class includes weaving supplies and handouts, though students must bring a scissor, pen, and three balls of 100% cotton yarn in suitable colors for stripes or plaids. Participants may also bring their own assembled rigid heddle loom with a 7.5 or 8 dent heddle. Open to students 15+ and adults of all ages, this workshop is a great way to de-stress, get creative, and learn a new skill.

No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and create!
Emergencies can happen anytime—be prepared with CPR and First Aid training at Shoreline Community College. In partnership with WestCoast CPR Training and the Health and Safety Institute, this hybrid course equips participants with essential life-saving skills, including CPR, AED use, and basic first aid for adults, children, and infants.
The training begins with a comprehensive 4-hour online course, followed by an interactive, hands-on session at Shoreline Community College. The in-person portion provides the opportunity to practice CPR techniques and emergency response skills under expert guidance.
This one-day course takes place on March 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in Room 1724 of the 1700 Building. The registration fee is $109, and the course is open to students 16 and older.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a CPR/AED & First Aid certification card valid for two years.

What is Interdisciplinary Studies? With Interdisciplinary Studies, two courses and two instructors come together in a single classroom to explore a common theme, allowing you to earn 10 credits and satisfy requirements in two subject areas.
What is the theme this spring? Asia Unmasked: Traditions, Revolutions, and Secrets.
We’ll explore the art, philosophy and revolutions of China, Korea, and Japan. Through historical documents, cinema, and fiction, we will examine multiple perspectives such as how Confucianism, Buddhism, and native religions were used to both enlighten and to rule over the common people.
