ORCA LIFT sign-up event, PUB Lobby
Mon., June 20: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Do you ride the bus? Qualified low-income riders can save 50% on every ride in King County by joining the ORCA LIFT program. Apply TODAY in the PUB Lobby from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.! If you want to save even more money, start at the Cashier’s Office, where you can purchase a $200 ORCA card for just $100. Then bring your pass to the Orca LIFT table in the PUB. Can’t make it Monday? An ORCA rep will be in the PUB Lobby again on Wed., June 22 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Dr. Alison Stevens is returning to Shoreline and her first day on campus in her role as the Executive Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs is Mon., June 20.

Free FAFSA Workshop, FOSS 5101
Mon., June 20: 2:30-4 p.m.

Members of Shoreline’s Enrollment & Financial Aid Services office will be on hand to help you get started and complete the free application for federal student aid (FAFSA) Mon., June 20 from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Workforce Education Office’s computer lab on the ground floor of the FOSS (5000) bldg.
Bring your tax information or estimates, including parents’ tax information if applicable.

Dissecting the Mock Interview, Fri., June 17 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Workforce Education Office (ground floor of 5000 Building).
Our very own Career Navigator, Tiffany Lamoreaux will lead the discussion as we role play our way through a typical interviewing process. We’ll explore the questions a job seeker can count on, along with how to handle surprises – with you as critics. Would be great to have a few of you on hand for your experience and insights. Served up of course with the usual coffee and treats, compliments of Central Market.

“Reconciling Risk and Suspending Belief”

The Oso Landslide Project is a time-based photo documentary project that began prior to the devastating landslide of March, 2014. Eidenberg-Noppe, a hydrologist and photographer, documented the area in April 2012, March 2013, June and November of 2014, and September 2015. The collection includes large-scale panoramic photographs of a dramatically altered landscape, as well as detailed images capturing the personal effects of this powerful and tragic event. An essay about the project titled: “Reconciling Risk and Suspending Belief” is published on www.medium.com.

The 26th annual Shoreline Arts Festival is Sat., June 25 & Sun., June 26, and is a free, two-day festival featuring music, dance, theater, art exhibitions, hands-on art activities, cultural rooms, food, and more that is organized by the Shoreline – Lake Forest Park Arts Council. A fun time for all, here’s how you can participate:
Show your art!
Submit your art to be showcased in the Arts Festival Juried 2D/3D Art & Juried Photography show. But hurry – the deadline for registration is June 19!

Volunteer!
The Arts Council is still looking for volunteers to help before, after, and at the festival. Join the veritable army of volunteers who make this celebration of the arts possible and get a glimpse “backstage” as we entertain 10,000+ art-loving community members over two days.
Volunteers are needed for a wide range of tasks, with shifts ranging from two hours to all-day, so there’s something for every skill level and any amount of availability. Sign up now on VolunteerSpot.
Attend and enjoy the fun!
Check out the artist marketplace, dance and musical performances, food trucks galore, a performance by Missoula Children’s Theater, cultural rooms, arts and crafts stations, and more!
And, you can even avoid the stress of parking by taking the Free Arts Festival Shuttle (provided by Shoreline Community College!). The shuttle will run in a loop stopping at Meridian Park, Cromwell Park, and the Shoreline Center every 15 minutes during festival hours (Saturday, June 25 10am-6pm and Sunday, June 26 10am-5pm).

The first inductees into Shoreline’s new Delta Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society.
Congratulations to the Nursing Program’s Graduating Class of Spring 2016, who celebrated their graduation ceremony Thurs., June 9 in the PUB Main Dining room.
The occasion was made even more momentous, as six of the graduates became the program’s first-ever inductees into the new Delta Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Nu, the Nursing Honor Society for Associate Degree Nurses. The six inductees are: Michelle Fero, Alicia Frederick, Elizabeth Hurless, Ann Kelly, Jennifer Sayles, and Peter Yragui.

Athletic Banquet and Silent Auction, PUB Main Dining Room
Fri., June 10: 6:30 p.m.

Shoreline Community College is hosting its Annual Athletic Banquet and Silent Auction on June 10 at 6:30pm in the PUB Main Dining Room. This banquet celebrates all of the Academic and Athletic success of our Shoreline student-athletes from the 2015-16 school year.
The event begins with a silent auction at 6:30pm. Our Shoreline coaches, Athletic Director Steve Eskridge, and the Athletic department staff will be auctioning off gift baskets as a fundraiser for Shoreline Athletics. The auction is followed by dinner and awards at 7:30pm.
Tickets for this event are $20 and include dinner. Seniors, students, children, and Shoreline Community College staff/faculty can get a discounted ticket for $15. All Shoreline Community College student-athletes receive free admission to this event. If you would like to attend you can pick up your ticket in the Athletic Department Offices in the 3000 Building.

The Fitness Center in the 3000 building will operate during the summer session from June 13 to August 18 and will be open for use by faculty, staff, and students M-Th from 12-4 p.m.
Intramural yoga will be offered June 21 through August 11 on Tues. & Thurs., from 12-12:50 p.m. When the weather is nice, yoga will meet outside near the rock river by the 1500 building and west of the library.
