Please join us on Wed., June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach for the final Shoreline Community College Choir Concert of the year. The Chamber Chorale and Shoreline Singers will perform choral music from Austria, England, Syria, America, and more.
This will also be Dr. Fred Lokken’s farewell concert as Director of Choral Music at the college. After 18 years of teaching and conducting at Shoreline Community College, Fred is stepping down as choir director.
Alumni of the Chamber Chorale and Shoreline Singers have been invited to perform with the current choirs in two encore pieces under Dr. Lokken’s direction. The 2016 Commencement ceremony is this Sunday, June 5 at 2 p.m.
Rehearsal begins in the gym (Building 3000) at 1:30 on Friday, June 3rd.
On Sunday, graduates need to meet outside the lower level of the gym at 1:30 to line up. Parking is free for everyone on Sunday.
The commencement ceremony begins at 2:00 pm. Audience members who arrive late will be directed to the overflow area located outside the main gym, where they can view the ceremony on a screen. Please inform your guests of this policy and ask that they arrive on time. Please also remember that every guest entering the main gym will need a ticket (children included).

The campus community is invited to attend the capstone project presentations of Karen Kreutzer and Linda Kuehnert’s third-quarter general chemistry and third-quarter organic chemistry classes. The presentations will be held in Room 2925 from 10:30-11:20 a.m. on Wed., June 1, Thurs., June 2, and Fri., June 3. Topics range from pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides to Food Irradiation, Antifreeze in Frogs and Fish, and Antibacterial Soap.

An inspiring documentary following ex-Army Ranger Mike Johnson, who enriches the lives of a group of recovering addicts at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission by encouraging them to join him on a mission of personal discovery and redemption–climbing to the 14,400-foot summit of Mt. Rainier.

Director Andrew Ahn is scheduled to attend this showing! A young Korean-American (Joe Seo, in a Sundance-winning breakthrough performance) discovers his burgeoning sexual desires amid the steamy underground world of gay hookups when he takes a job at a spa in Los Angeles’ Koreatown.
Lead actor, Joe Seo, won for U.S. Dramatic Breakthrough Performance at Sundance Film Festival 2016.

Spa Night plays at Shoreline on Thurs., June 2 at 9:30 p.m.
The Foundation office has free vouchers to see the remaining SIFF films on campus at our theater. Stop by the office in the Admin 1000 building and pick up vouchers for the films. Redeem the vouchers at the theater at least 30 minutes before the film you want to see.

Two music students are presenting graduating recitals this week: ColiLynne Woods and Brian Witter.
CoriLynne Woods’ vocal graduation recital will include songs by: Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, Pierne, Wolf-Ferrari, and John Duke. Brandon Kiss will be accompanying on piano, and also featured in the performance is Jonathan Woods on vibraphone. Ms. Woods’ performance will be Wed., June 1 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the music building, room 818.
