Music Student Performances: Off-campus at Caffè Musica
Thurs., Nov. 16: 7-9pm
Join us for a cozy evening of music at this intimate, creative venue. Performances will feature talented music students who are currently enrolled in a variety of music programs at Shoreline Community College. Selected performers will include both vocalists and instrumentalists.

Discounts on entrees and beverages are available to Shoreline Community College students, staff, and faculty. Valid student ID is required.

U.S.-Russia Relations: A New Cold War?: PUB 9208

U.S.-Russian relations seem to have reached a low point since the end of the Cold War in 1990. Confrontations in Europe and the Middle East and accusations of Russian meddling in U.S. elections have produced a “tenuous” bilateral relationship. Is it the new/old normal?

Speaker: Dr. Bradley J. Murg, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of Global Development Studies, Seattle Pacific University; and faculty member at The Ellison Center for Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies.

Shoreline Community College T-TEN Program is partnering with the Marine Corps Reserve to collect donations to Toys for Tots. Between now and Thurs., Nov. 30, please bring unwrapped toys you’d like to donate to one of two collection boxes on campus: one located on the main floor of the PUB (9000) building and one housed on the main floor of the FOSS (5000) building. All Toys for Tots donations from Shoreline will be gathered by Thurs., Nov. 30 and taken to the Northwest Toy Run event held at Pacific Raceways in Kent on Sun., Dec. 3.

Please join us and other car enthusiasts at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA on Sun., Dec. 3 from 8am-2pm for a fun day of car shows and gathering Toys for Tots!

The Women’s Volleyball team beat the Skagit Valley Cardinals in a four-game set on Thurs., Nov. 9 to advance to the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Volleyball Championships being held Nov. 16-19 at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center. Our Dolphins will begin Championship playoffs Thurs., Nov. 16 at 4:30 p.m. versus North Idaho College.

Come support our Dolphins as they forge ahead in their quest to become the NWAC Volleyball Champions. Check the tournament bracket for more details.

Mon., Nov. 13

Voting for IEW Photo Contest Begins: International Education, 9302
Mon., Nov. 13 – Wed., Nov. 15
Exhibition of the top 10 photos selected by the judges submitted to the IEW Photo Contest will be displayed during Nov. 13-16 IEW events or at the International Education department located on the PUB 3rd floor, 9302.

Public voting will begin on Mon., Nov. 13 at 9am and end on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 5pm. Each person can only vote once on their favorite three photos at the exhibition. Winners will be announced on November 16.

College Rep visits: Table in PUB
Mon., Nov. 13: 11am-1pm
Representatives from Northern Arizona University and Washington State University-Everett will be on Shoreline’s campus to meet with interested students. Reps will discuss topics such as academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures for their college. They can answer other questions students may have too.

Deep Roots Garden Work Party: North of 2700 building
Thurs., Nov. 16: 12-2pm
Help get the Deep Roots Community Garden ready for the winter. On Thurs., Nov. 16 we’ll be laying wood chips in the paths and doing some general cleanup. Come by anytime between noon and 2 pm.

The Deep Roots Community Garden grows food for the campus food pantry and a neighborhood food bank. Get involved in growing food for our students and neighbors. IEW Badminton Tournament: Main Gym (3000 bldg)
Fri., Nov. 17: 9am-12pm

The IEW 2017 Badminton Tournament is open to ALL Shoreline students to sign up and join. Students may sign up at IEW events or online.

The tournament will be in the Main Gym (3000 Building) on Friday, November 17 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Both you and your partner must be available during this time in order to be able to sign up and compete.
