Justin will share his personal story that took him from the U.S. military, Shoreline Community College, the UW Jackson School, and to Europe on his way to earning Associate and Bachelor degrees. Being flexible and seizing opportunities are part of that story.

Congratulations to our Volleyball team for Tuesday night’s big win over Whatcom! Our Phins played a hard-fought, five-set game to fend off the Orcas. This win keeps alive our Phins’ hopes of snagging the last Northern Region playoff spot. If our Phins claim victory over the Skagit Valley Cardinals this Thursday, they will head to the NWAC Volleyball Championships at the Tacoma Convention Center Nov. 16-19.
Phin Fans, please join us Thurs., Nov. 9 at 7pm in the Dolphin Dome (Main Gym, 3000 bldg) to cheer our Phins to victory over Skagit Valley! Show our volleyball team your support by coming in full-force to the game wearing your Phin Fan gear and sporting lots of cheers. We hope to see you there. #GoPhins!

The library is hosting a writing space especially for those participating in National Novel Writing Month. We have outlets, wifi, comfy chairs, and participants can log into the computers to work on their novels.

Wed., Nov. 8: 3:30-5pm
Nursing Program Information Meetings are held monthly during Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters and are conducted by the Nursing Program Director or a faculty member. During these sessions, the Program and the entire admission process are reviewed. Individual questions can be answered at the end of the sessions.

The International Education Week (IEW) Photo Contest is open to ALL current Shoreline Community College students.
Theme: “Transitions”
Eligiblity: This photo contest is open to ALL current Shoreline students to enter. Each participant can only submit a maximum of three photos accompanied by a brief caption/title relating to the photo and the stated theme of “transitions”.
Submission deadline: Submissions are DUE November 8, 2017 at 11:59pm. Please email your photos with captions to iwelcome@shoreline.edu using the subject line “IEW Photo Contest”.
Contest timeline:
Exhibition of the top 10 photos selected by the judges will be displayed during IEW events Nov. 13-16 or at the International Education department located on the PUB 3rd floor, 9302.
Public voting will begin on Mon., Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. and end on Wed., Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. Each person can only vote once on their favorite three photos at the exhibition.
Winners will be announced at the International Myths & Tales Panel on Nov. 16 in the PUB 9208. That event is from 12:30-2:30pm.

Registration for winter quarter classes for current students begins the week of November 13-17. Advisors will be “out and about” in the Library from 10am-1pm on Tues., Nov. 7 to talk with students about finding their specific registration date, majors, degree plans, degree audits, and course selection.
