Join the fun for Student Life’s last day of Welcome Week celebration. Student Life will have free treats and coffee by the bus stop/drop-off area in the morning (8:30-10 a.m.), music and lunch in the courtyard 12-1:30 p.m., and the food pantry kickoff in the Quiet Dining Room (9208) from 1-2:30 p.m. Come join us!!

Attention Students:
Do you play an instrument or sing? Are you interested in participating in an ensemble? The Music Department is hosting an Ensemble Orientation event on Friday, Sept. 29 at 10:30 am in Room 818 (Music Building 800). Students will learn about the many performance opportunities they can experience by joining an ensemble. There is a broad range to choose from and you may participate in as many as your schedule will allow. Visit our Music Department site for more information about ensembles. Welcome Back! The Multicultural Center is sponsoring some light refreshments and snacks to kick off Fall Quarter 2017 at our open house event Thurs., Sept. 28 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. upstairs in the PUB (9000 bldg) in 9301. The open house will feature:
-A question and answer session to hear perspectives of what it’s like to attend and navigate Shoreline Community College.
– Meet & greet with student leaders, faculty/staff of color.
– Meet and sign up to be a part of several recognized student organizations that are already meeting and planning some great activities for this year.
– Learn more about related activities, resources, and services from the Multicultural Center, such as internships and conference opportunities.

To facilitate the needs of students and their families in preparation for the start of Fall quarter, parking on campus will be free Sept. 18 – 27. No fees are required to park Sept. 18 – 27, and no citations will be issued for not paying parking fees. We ask that visitors to campus do still park in the appropriate parking areas during this period of free parking. If you or anyone you know still need to register for classes, this is a great time to take advantage of the free parking and come on down to campus to get registered now!
Safety & Security will post signage on the parking machines on Free Parking Days.

Zak Helenske is a potter who is interested in the development of form and the exploration of pattern, referencing architectural situations and social observations. He uses geometry as a language to communicate ideas of space, proximity, occupation, and structure.
Pots are some of the objects that connect us across cultures and across time. Helenske is interested in the anti-monumental and challenged by the spatial balance between pottery, architecture, and community.
