Laptops and other instructional equipment are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do you need access to a laptop to complete your online or hybrid courses?
We still have some laptops available for students to check out.
Who should check out equipment
Our goal is to prioritize students who do not have a device to access online classes. With limited supplies, we are prioritizing students who have paid tuition and fees.
Student Learning Center: Spring Updates
Starting Spring Quarter 2022, the Student Learning Center is updating the way that tutoring is offered at Shoreline, making it more convenient and accessible for students.
Using Starfish for Tutoring
Students will now find tutors and make appointments through Starfish. This replaces our previous one-on-one student-tutor matching system as well as the online learning centers. All tutors can now be found in Starfish.
Students will log into Starfish, click on the “Student Learning Center” tile, find a tutor for one of their current courses, and schedule an appointment directly. We are messaging this change to students on our web pages and through social media channels.
Tutoring Modalities
For Spring Quarter, most tutoring will continue to be virtual. Appointments made through Starfish will be virtual sessions on Zoom. We will also offer some on-campus, drop-in tutoring in limited subjects in the SLC (Library 4228) – please stay tuned for information on the Spring schedule! In addition, students can find free online tutoring help in many subjects through the Western eTutoring Consortium: www.etutoringonline.org
Contact the Student Learning Center
The main contact for the Student Learning Center is Billy Eshleman, weshleman@shoreline.edu. You can also reach the SLC at pttutors@shoreline.edu or visit us in Library 4228.
Hi Shoreline current students, have you tried to use Starfish to schedule an advising appointment yet?
Your advisor is here to help you make a plan to complete degree or certificate requirements, guide you on transferring to a four-year university, and/or connect you to resources for a successful college experience! If you need to schedule an appointment, watch the video below about how to do so via Starfish.
This is a “Quiet Individualized Computer Lab” that is open to all “current” Shoreline Community College students. Our Lab Manager is available to help you with issues that arise and works to maintain the valued quiet environment of the Lab. Chatter is kept to whispers tones.
