As we work our way through the first week of the quarter, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide some tips from the Department of Safety & Security.
Parking The first 2 weeks of Summer Quarter 2024 (July 1 – July 12) is the official grace period for students to purchase their quarterly permits. During this time, citations will not be issued for lack of parking permit in student areas (ADA violations, parking in multiple stalls, and other illegal and hazardous violations will still be cited). You may still find warnings on your vehicle instructing you to purchase a permit, but you will not be cited for lack of a permit.
Beginning Monday, July 15th, permits are required to park on campus for all days each quarter, Monday-Thursday from 6:00am-4:00pm, excluding weekends and holidays. Citations with fines are issued for ADA violations, PCC parking violations, Visitor Lot violations, and other illegal/hazardous (fire lane, blocking roadway, not parked in a parking stall, etc.).
Students can purchase parking permits in Student Finance (aka Cashiers). Daily permits are also available for purchase at pay stations located at the East Gate, West Gate, in front of Bldg. 7000, in the parking lot west of Bldg. 1600, and on the walkway between Bldg. 2900 and 3000.
Campus Security We have a uniformed Campus Security Officer on campus and on-duty 24/7/365. Our personnel are trained and equipped to respond to a vast variety of calls that include, but are not limited to, basic first aid, medical emergencies, security emergencies, and calls for assistance.
To reach our team during business hours, call 206-546-4633, or visit the Safety & Security Office in the Foss Building, Room 5102.
After hours or if the office does not answer, the on-duty Campus Security Officer can be reached at 206-235-5860
Courtesy Services Our department provides vehicle lockout assistance, vehicle jumpstarts, security escorts, and more!
Lost & Found The official campus Lost & Found is located in the Safety & Security Office, Room 5102. We hold onto items for 3-6 months before disposing of them.
Tips Here are a few tips that can help you in having a wonderful experience here at Shoreline:
STOP! If you haven’t already, save the after-hours Campus Security number in your phone now! 206-235-5860.
Park in high traffic and well-lit areas.
Remove all valuables from your vehicle and remove items from view.
Even if a bag only has dirty gym clothes in it, a prowler may break in hoping it contains valuables.
If you observe a suspicious person or vehicle on campus, call security.
Always keep your phone and photo ID on your person in the event that you need to contact assistance.
If you witness or observe concerning behavior or posts on social media, report it to Campus Security by calling the office or after-hours number.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not report injuries, criminal activity, or request immediate assistance via email, as email is only monitored sporadically during office hours.
For questions, please come to the Safety & Security Office (5102), call us at: (206) 546-4633 or email: safetyandsecurity@shoreline.edu
We hope you are doing well and looking forward to the Summer Term!
Just a reminder that Summer 2024 tuition is due on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Please make sure to have your Summer Quarter balance paid by this deadline to prevent being dropped from your classes. You can pay tuition online or set up a payment plan through ctcLink, or in person at the Cashier’s Office (FOSS/5000 building).
If you are unable to see your tuition balance in ctcLink, please contact our Finance Department to have this resolved.
Drop for Non-payment A drop for non-payment will take place on Friday, June 21st, 2024, for students who have not paid their balance, have not made any payments or payment arrangements, and/or do not have a hold to prevent their classes from being dropped. Please pay by June 20, 2024 @ 11:59pm to prevent being dropped on June 21.
Are you looking for financial assistance?
For Federal and state financial aid, please complete a FAFSA/WASFA
Financial Aid Applicants: Students who are registered for summer quarter and have a valid FAFSA or WASFA processed by June 21, 2024, will have an F02 hold placed on their account so that they are not dropped for nonpayment.
Due to delays with ctcLink, please be advised:
Holds have been placed on students with a valid FAFSA processed by June 4.
Holds will continue to be placed on students with a valid FAFSA processed between June 5-June 21 as soon as our system allows.
Holds will be placed for students with a valid WASFA processed by June 21 as soon as our system allows.
If you have met these criteria and do not see a F02 hold on your account in ctcLink by June 21, please contact the Financial Aid office at financialaid@shoreline.edu.
Students who do not have a processed FAFSA or WASFA or are registered for summer by June 21, must plan to pay for their tuition through other alternative methods or set up a tuition payment plan. Financial aid can still be processed and offered retroactively for summer if you are eligible.
Money for college is available, but the application process can be confusing, and many students aren’t sure where to begin.
Don’t worry, help is available!
Attend the Shoreline Community College Financial Aid Lab, where our staff will be available to answer questions and help you complete your application.
These labs are FREE, open to the public, and you can attend either online or in-person.
For priority consideration, you must submit your valid 2024-2025 FAFSA or WASFA application by June 18, 2024 and register for summer classes by June 21, 2024.
Students who meet the June 21, 2024, priority deadline will not be dropped for nonpayment while their financial aid application is reviewed.
Students who miss the June 21, 2024, deadline should have another plan to pay their tuition until their file can be reviewed and eligibility determined.
Students attending Fall Quarter
Review of files will begin after summer quarter applications have been processed.

There have been significant challenges at the national level with the 2024-25 FAFSA application which has impacted Shoreline’s ability to provide student aid information before Summer Quarter begins.
Despite the delay, we want students to know that we have plans in place to ensure students are supported.
Students attending Summer Quarter
For priority consideration, the college must receive your valid 2024-2025 FAFSA or WASFA application and you must be registered for summer classes by June 21, 2024
Students who meet the June 21, 2024, priority deadline will be held in their classes and will not be dropped for nonpayment while their financial aid application is reviewed.
Students who miss the June 21, 2024, deadline should have another plan to pay their tuition until their file can be reviewed and eligibility determined.
Applying for financial aid does not guarantee eligibility for money. Thus, we highly recommend students consider other alternative funding and payment options such as:
Note: Starting June 3, 2024, through June 28, 2024, Financial Aid Office will have limited frontline services as the office will need to focus on serving students by doing file review and awarding before the summer quarter starts.
Please be sure to keep an eye on your email for any requests for additional information from our office and visit our website for updates.
