Join the college community in conversation about Coming of Age in Mississippi, an extraordinary personal memoir of a young black woman growing up in the segregated South and joining the struggle by blacks for voting rights.
This Wednesday’s meeting will cover chapters 23-26 and will take place in the PUB room 9202 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Marked for death by the Ku Klux Klan, Anne Moody survived to tell a story that resonates with today’s headlines about racial tensions and the targeting of African Americans by a white society.

Just a reminder that we’ll have the second of our weekly discussions of Anne Moody’s Coming of Age in Mississippi Wed., April 22. Come prepared to discuss chapters 5-9. We’ll be meeting in Room, 9202 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. DuValle Daniel and Leslie Potter-Henderson are leading this week’s discussion. Each week we’ll have a different facilitator(s).
