Chemistry student capstone project presentations, Room 2925

The campus community is invited to attend the capstone project presentations of Karen Kreutzer and Linda Kuehnert’s third-quarter general chemistry and third-quarter organic chemistry classes. The presentations will be held in Room 2925 from 10:30-11:20 a.m. on Wed., June 1, Thurs., June 2, and Fri., June 3. Topics range from pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides to Food Irradiation, Antifreeze in Frogs and Fish, and Antibacterial Soap.

SIFF presents “A New High,” Main Campus Theater
Thurs., June 2: 7-9 p.m.

An inspiring documentary following ex-Army Ranger Mike Johnson, who enriches the lives of a group of recovering addicts at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission by encouraging them to join him on a mission of personal discovery and redemption–climbing to the 14,400-foot summit of Mt. Rainier.

SIFF presents “Spa Night,” Main Campus Theater

Director Andrew Ahn is scheduled to attend this showing! A young Korean-American (Joe Seo, in a Sundance-winning breakthrough performance) discovers his burgeoning sexual desires amid the steamy underground world of gay hookups when he takes a job at a spa in Los Angeles’ Koreatown.

Lead actor, Joe Seo, won for U.S. Dramatic Breakthrough Performance at Sundance Film Festival 2016.

Students and Employees Get Free Vouchers to remaining SIFF 2016 films at Shoreline

The Foundation office has free vouchers to see the remaining SIFF films on campus at our theater. Stop by the office in the Admin 1000 building and pick up vouchers for the films. Redeem the vouchers at the theater at least 30 minutes before the film you want to see.

The remaining films are: A New High – Thursday, June 2 at 7:00 pm and Spa Night – Thursday, June 2 at 9:30 pm; Complete Unknown – Friday, June 3 at 6:30 pm and Truman – Friday, June 3 at 9:00 pm; Summer of 92 – Saturday, June 4 at 1:00 pm; Sonita – Saturday, June 4 at 3:30 pm; Big Sonia – Saturday, June 4 at 6:00 pm; and Trivisa – Saturday, June 4 at 8:30 pm.

SIFF Opening Night Party, Main Campus Theater

SIFF presents “The Tenth Man,” Main Theater

A genial and lighthearted affair, in which a New York-based Jewish-Argentinian man returns to the Once district of Buenos Aires for Purim, reconnecting with his father, his faith, his native community, and his heart.

SIFF presents “Belle and Sebastian, the Adventure Continues,” Main Theater

In a new chapter of the beloved saga of Belle & Sebastian (SIFF 2014), the now-10-year-old hero and his brave, shaggy dog embark on an exciting adventure to rescue Sebastian’s mom, who is lost after her plane crashes deep in the forest. An insightful, infuriating, heartbreaking, and gripping true-crime documentary delving into the brutal stabbing of a 12-year-old Wisconsin girl by her best friends, who claimed they were influenced by an internet bogeyman known as “the Slenderman.”

SIFF presents “The Intervention,” Main Theater

Actress Clea DuVall’s directorial debut is a modern twist on The Big Chill, with a top-notch indie cast portraying a group of friends whose reunion getaway goes south when it is revealed that the trip was orchestrated as an intervention for one troubled marriage.

A fanciful horror-tinged New Wave rock opera transpires when a pair of bewitching mermaids emerge from the sea to join a Warsaw nightclub act, then face some cruel, bloody choices when one of them falls in love with a handsome young bass player.

Mon., May 30

Campus services are closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday, but the Theater is open for SIFF showings. 

Veterans’ day at SIFF:
40 free tickets are available for veterans to use on Mon., May 30 to any of four films showing on Shoreline’s campus on Mon., May 30 – Memorial Day.

These tickets are offered first come, first served – tickets must be picked up by noon on May 27 in the Foundation office or by seeing Mary Brueggeman on May 30 in the Main theater lobby. Please have military ID to show when picking up tickets. These free tickets for veterans are made available courtesy of Chuck Olson Chevrolet-Kia and Girandola Tools for Entrepreneurs.
