parking meter

The 6 parking permit machines on campus will be out of service from Sept 3, 2015 to Sept. 7, 2015. During this time, the permit stations will be reprogrammed to offer free parking after 4:00pm, as well as new options for purchasing a daily permit.

During the service period, parking permits will not be necessary to park on campus. Please continue, however, to park in appropriate parking locations. Beginning Tues, Sept. 8, 2015, the machines will be back in service. We are looking forward to offering these new parking options as we begin fall quarter.

If you have any questions regarding the process, please contact Sergeant Edwin Lucero or Director Robin Blacksmith at ext. 4633. Thank you.

job-seekers-roundtable
Join us this Thurs., August 27 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Workforce Education office (bottom floor of FOSS) for a Job Seekers’ Roundtable exploring the most dreaded interview question: “Tell Me About Yourself.”

So you got the call: You’ve been asked to interview!

It can be a feeling of excitement, even relief, but sometimes accompanied with a bit of anxiety.

What many of us don’t consider is that the interview is more a conversation than it is a test. How do we get past the edginess and jitters of a looming job interview? Being prepared is a given, but being yourself is an imperative! This Thursday we’ll give this subject some airtime. If you haven’t yet, you will get an interview eventually, so you might as well come by, right? So please share some skills and insights, have some laughs – and of course some great coffee and refreshments.

Note: this is our final Thursday meeting of Roundtable. There will be no Roundtable next week, and the meetings will resume on Fridays (same time and place) on Fri., September 11.

parking
Just a heads up that, beginning Tues., August 24, we’ll be working on updating the striping in the parking lots campus-wide. This will be an ongoing project that we hope to have finished by Sept. 6 at the latest. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this project, and will try to keep the inconvenience to a minimum. However, as most lots will be affected at one time or another, on certain days it may be necessary to park in a lot that’s not your usual lot. Please pay attention to any posted signage and park accordingly. Thank you.

Please contact Safety and Security with any questions at (206) 546-4633 with any questions.

Get your monologues ready and secure yourself an audition slot for Shoreline Theater’s upcoming performance of Avenue Q,
“an autobiographical and biographical coming-of-age parable, addressing and satirizing the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood” – as told by puppets!

One of the longest-running Broadway shows, Avenue Q will come to Shoreline’s stage Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1. Auditions are being held August 24 and 28, with callbacks on August 29. For more info, and to sign up for an audition slot, click here.

Winner of the TONY® “TRIPLE CROWN” for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST BOOK, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. Avenue Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named PRINCETON who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets KATE (the girl next door), ROD (the Republican), TREKKIE (the internet sexpert), LUCY THE SLUT (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help PRINCETON finally discover his purpose in life!

Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.

Get your audition time now!
