Dandylyon Drama is partnering with Continuing Education at Shoreline Community College again this spring for another fun theater production of “The Little Mermaid”. Sign your kids up for acting/musical classes for 11-15 year olds or tech/costume crew for ages 13-18 years.

Shoreline Community College Athletic Department has hired Dr. John Thornton as its next Head Coach for the women’s soccer team. 

Dr. Thornton has over 15 years’ experience as a head soccer coach. Dr. Thornton has coached at Bear Creek High School, Shelton High School, South Kitsap High School and is currently the head girls coach at Kings High School in Shoreline. Dr. Thornton holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Genesis University. We are excited to have Dr. Thornton as our new Women’s Head Soccer Coach.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Thornton to the Phin family!

Dear Shoreline Students,

The College continues to experience technical problems with our website, campus Wi-Fi, and other online services. While we work to resolve these issues, we would like you to be aware of the following helpful information:

  • Final ExamsMost finals will be held in the original manner scheduled. If you have questions, please connect directly with your instructor via Canvas. You will be able to access your grades through ctcLink.

 

  • Direct SupportWhile our networks are down, we have shifted to hybrid work with support available both in-person and by Zoom. Links to important resources, such as Canvas and ctcLink, as well as helpful information and articles, are available at the Shoreline Support Center. All departments will continue to respond to email and live phone or voicemail.

 

  • Class Schedule and RegistrationAccess to the Spring Quarter class schedule and registration are still available through ctcLink. If you have questions about registration, please contact us at 206-546-4611. Classes begin on April 3.

 

  • Payments: Currently we are unable to access online tuition payments. However, students may still pay with Visa or Mastercard by phone. Please email accountsreceivable@shoreline.edu or leave a voicemail at (206)-546-7850 to arrange for a callback from our Cashiering team.

Good afternoon,

Earlier today we released an update about this morning’s ransomware attack.We now have further details for you.

We are currently working with several local and federal authorities to determine the total impact to our operations. At this time, we are in the analysis phase, evaluating and identifying potential next steps.

All on-campus server and network services including the campus website, report services, printing, local computer logins, wifi, vpn, and remote connectivity are unavailable until further notice.

Currently access to ctcLink for enrollment, registration or payments, Microsoft Office 365, Sharepoint, Google Products, and OneDrive are available remotely.

For further updates and support, visit the Shoreline Support Center.

TSS will be meeting with the Executive Team regularly to until this issue is resolved.

Dear Campus Community,  

Shoreline Community College appears to have experienced a ransomware attack, which has left the College website and campus Wi-Fi currently inaccessible. Due to this IT systems outage, our campus will transition the majority of our operations to remote work until further notice. The College is working with local and federal authorities to resolve this issue.  During this time campus remains open, however there is no access to the College website or campus wi-fi on college grounds.

The Shoreline Art Gallery is currently accepting submissions for the 2023 Earth Week Exhibit which will take place from April 14-28 in the 1000 Building.

Submissions should be made from recycled or
found items OR have a sustainability or eco-focused message or theme.

Interested individuals should e-mail Gallery Director, Zach Mazur (zmazur@shoreline.edu) by Friday, April 7th with the following information:

 

    • Description of submission including title, date, media, dimensions and method by which the piece should be displayed (e.g. standing, wall mounted, digital, etc.)

 

    • Photograph of submission: If your work is visual, please include a clear photograph or sample of the work/s you are considering.

 

Exhibition media may include but is not limited to:

 

    • Works of visual art (i.e. drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, etc.) Please note: 2-dimensional work must be framed and equipped with hanging devices

 

    • Musical performances or sound-based media (filmed or recorded)

 

    • Film/video productions or digital art

 

    • Written or spoken word such as short stories or poetry

All current students are invited to join Seattle artist Cari Simson in a 2 workshop series to create a collaborative art piece that will be included in the upcoming One Planet: An Eco-Focused Art Exhibit at the Shoreline Art Gallery from April 14-May 12.

Workshop 1 – Weds. 4/12 from 2-4pm
Students will work with Cari Simson to create a large installation piece by weaving natural materials found in and around campus!

Workshop 2 – Thurs. 4/20 from 3-5pm
Students will use found and discarded materials provided by gallery visitors to create a second work at the One Planet exhibit reception. Friends and family are welcome to attend and enjoy life music and food!

The Student Learning Center will remain open, with abbreviated hours, during finals week!

The Math and Sciences Learning Center (room 4213) will be open 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday (3/20 – 3/23). The Writing Studio (room 4301B) will be open 12:00 pm – 3:00 PM on Monday (3/20) and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday (3/21 – 3/23). The Student Learning Center will be closed Friday, 3/24.

Students are encouraged to book appointments through Starfish or to stop by one of our Learning Centers in the Library (4000).

The Student Learning Center will return to full tutoring operations for Spring Quarter on April 10.
