Workforce Education Tuition Funding Info Session: FOSS Building 5101
Wed., Nov. 29: 2-3 p.m.
Need help paying for college? Come to an information session to see if you qualify for Workforce Education Tuition Assistance Funding. You may qualify if:

(1) You are in a Professional Technical Program (Non-Transfer), (2) have lived in WA for a year or more, (3) and meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Are unemployed
  • Are Low-Income (i.e., have a monthly income less than $2000 per month)

Can’t make the info session? You can also find out if you’re eligible at
www.startnextquarter.org or by calling Workforce Education at (206) 546-5882.

Shoreline Concert Band Fall Concert: Shorewood HS 
Tues., Nov. 28: 7:30-9:30 p.m.
This will be Ken Noreen’s final conducting performance at Shoreline Community College after 54 years of directing bands in the Shoreline Schools and at Shoreline Community College. This concert will feature the University of Washington Concert Band, the Shoreline Concert Band, and the Alumni & Friends Concert Band. Free admission, but donations will be accepted at the door.

Join Project PRIDE as we honor our fallen family. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Mon., Nov. 20, 12:30p.m. in the PUB Lobby.

College Rep visits: Table in PUB Lobby
Mon., Nov. 20: 11am-1pm
College representatives from Brandman University and University of Washington-Seattle will be on Shoreline’s campus to meet with interested students. Reps will discuss topics such as academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures for their college. They can answer other questions students may have too.

The library is hosting a writing space especially for those participating in National Novel Writing Month. We have outlets, wifi, comfy chairs, and participants can log into the computers to work on their novels.

Music Student Performances: Off-campus at Caffè Musica
Thurs., Nov. 16: 7-9pm
Join us for a cozy evening of music at this intimate, creative venue. Performances will feature talented music students who are currently enrolled in a variety of music programs at Shoreline Community College. Selected performers will include both vocalists and instrumentalists.

Discounts on entrees and beverages are available to Shoreline Community College students, staff, and faculty. Valid student ID is required.

U.S.-Russia Relations: A New Cold War?: PUB 9208

U.S.-Russian relations seem to have reached a low point since the end of the Cold War in 1990. Confrontations in Europe and the Middle East and accusations of Russian meddling in U.S. elections have produced a “tenuous” bilateral relationship. Is it the new/old normal?

Speaker: Dr. Bradley J. Murg, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of Global Development Studies, Seattle Pacific University; and faculty member at The Ellison Center for Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies.
