In an effort to address concerns over public restroom access and foster an equitable environment, Shoreline Community College is introducing a total of four permanent all-gender restrooms to campus beginning the start of winter quarter 2017.
This measure is designed to reinforce Shoreline’s commitment to safety and inclusion by ensuring that all students, regardless of gender presentation or identity, have an option for safe restroom access. All-gender restrooms benefit the student body both by acknowledging the reality of multiple gender identities and by offering an alternative to traditionally segregated restrooms, which are not accessible to all students.
