Safety & Security has extended the grace period for students to purchase parking permits until Monday, 1/19. Citations for lack of permit will begin on Tuesday, 1/20.
During the grace period, visitor lot violations, ADA violations, parking in multiple stalls, parking in assigned spots/lots, and other illegal and hazardous violations will still be cited.
Beginning January 20, 2026, permits are required to park on campus weekdays during the quarter, Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 4:00pm, excluding holidays.
Students can purchase parking permits in Student Finance (aka Cashiers), located on the second Floor of Bldg. 5000 (FOSS). When purchasing their permit, students will need to provide their vehicle make, model, and license plate number.
This morning, an issue related to our campus construction projects caused the gas line sensor feeding into Building 1700 to trip, resulting in a temporary loss of heat. The issue has been addressed, and gas is now safely running through the building. Classes and work will continue as normal through this afternoon.
The gas line will need to be shut off later today in order to make repairs, which means the building will be too cold for evening classes. Please check Canvas for updated classroom assignments. While there is no danger to students at this time, we will be relocating all evening classes scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. in Building 1700 to alternate areas. Building 1700 will close at 3:30 pm today.
Please note that as a result, the roadway around Building 1700 will be completely closed today while repairs are underway. During this closure, the only access to Building 1800 will be via the walk ramp on the west side of the building, adjacent to the Building 1900/2000 roundabout.
On Wednesday, 10/22, law enforcement will be conducting an all-day training exercise at a nearby location. As a part of this training, the King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, Guardian 2, will conduct flight operations in and around Shoreview Park.
The college hopes that this advanced notification will assist with reducing or limiting the concerns of those who may witness the flight operations. We would like to thank our partners at Shoreline Police and the King County Sheriff’s Office for reaching out and providing us with this information in advance.
As we work our way through the first week of the quarter, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide some tips from the Department of Safety & Security.
Parking The first 2 calendar weeks of Fall Quarter 2025 (Sept. 24 – Oct. 3) is the official grace period for students to purchase their quarterly permits. During this time, citations will not be issued for lack of parking permit (Visitor Lot violations, ADA violations, parking in multiple stalls, parking in assigned spots/lots, and other illegal and hazardous violations will still be cited). You may still find warnings on your vehicle instructing you to purchase a permit, but you will not be cited for lack of a permit during this period.
Beginning Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, permits are required to park on campus weekdays during the quarter, Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 4:00pm, excluding holidays. Citations with fines are issued for ADA violations, PCC parking violations, Visitor Lot violations, hazardous driving violations, lack of parking permit, and other illegal/hazardous (fire lane, blocking roadway, not parked in a parking stall, etc.).
Students can purchase parking permits in Student Finance (aka Cashiers), located on the second Floor of Bldg. 5000 (FOSS). When purchasing your permit, you will need to provide your vehicle make, model, and license plate number.
