Financial aid helps students pay for college, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a first step toward receiving financial assistance with your educational expenses.
Visit the FAFSA website to complete your financial aid application.
The 2025-2026 application is for enrollment in classes from Summer 2025 – Spring 2026.
Use the 2024-2025 application for Winter 2025 and/or Spring 2025.
Apply as soon as possible and be sure to meet the deadline for the quarter you wish to start receiving funding. Refer to our Important Dates and Deadlines page for details.
The 2025-2026 Washington State aid application (WASFA) is scheduled to open in December.
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact our Financial Aid office at financialaid@shoreline.edu or 206-546-4762.
Dropping a class now will result in a “W” showing on your transcript for withdrawal, but it will not count in computing your GPA. If you choose to drop a class, you will be charged a $15 add/drop fee.
The last day to drop a class this quarter with a “W” is November 6, 2024. After this date, no “W” will be given.
Are You Receiving Financial Aid? Please check with the Financial Aid office before dropping any classes as your aid may be impacted.
Email your instructor and ask for permission to drop.
Email the name & number of the course you’d like to drop, along with your instructor’s permission, to Enrollment Services at EnrollmentServices@Shoreline.edu and we will process the drop for you.
Need help planning your courses? Contact the Advising Center to make an appointment with an academic advisor.
We need your help to make sure Shoreline Community College is providing you with the support you need.
On Monday, October 28, you will receive an email inviting you to take the Washington Student Experience Survey. This email will not come from us, but from this email address: noreply@qemailserver.com.
The survey, which asks questions about student needs & resources, will be open from October 28 to November 22. It is confidential and can be completed in 10 minutes or less.
When you receive the email, please take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your participation is vital in helping us understand how we can best support students’ needs.
Click the “Start Application” button to begin filling out your application.
Click the “Submit Application” button in the lower right corner (Note: The “Submit Application” button is disabled until the application is complete).
You will be directed back to your Dashboard where you will see the number of scholarships to which you have been automatically applied.
You may be eligible for additional scholarships that require additional information. The Dashboard will prompt you to provide this by showing a number in the “Items requiring completion” box.
After completing all follow-up items for the scholarship, click the “Resubmit Application” button to submit your application (Note: If there are no follow-up items that need to be completed, you do not need to resubmit your application).
Please Note: An application for Shoreline Community College Foundation scholarships does not take the place of the Financial Aid application. All students, excluding international students, are encouraged to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the WASFA (for HB 1079 students) application for the current year, in addition to the scholarship application. For information about financial aid, visit our Financial Aid webpage, or email financialaid@shoreline.edu.

As we work our way through the first week of the quarter, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide some tips from the Department of Safety & Security.
Parking The first 2 weeks of Fall Quarter 2024 (Sept. 25 – Oct. 11) is the official grace period for students to purchase their quarterly permits. During this time, citations will not be issued for lack of parking permit in student areas (ADA violations, parking in multiple stalls, and other illegal and hazardous violations will still be cited). You may still find warnings on your vehicle instructing you to purchase a permit, but you will not be cited for lack of a permit.
Beginning Monday, October 14, permits are required to park on campus for all days each quarter, Monday-Thursday from 6:00am-4:00pm, excluding weekends and holidays. Citations with fines are issued for ADA violations, PCC parking violations, Visitor Lot violations, and other illegal/hazardous (fire lane, blocking roadway, not parked in a parking stall, etc.).
Students can purchase parking permits in Student Finance (aka Cashiers). When purchasing your permit, please be ready to provide your vehicle make, model, and license plate number. Daily permits are also available for purchase at pay stations located as you enter the East Gate from Greenwood Avenue and on the main walkway between Bldg. 7000 (Housing) and Bldg. 1000.
Campus Security We have a uniformed Campus Security Officer on campus and on-duty 24/7/365. Our personnel are trained and equipped to respond to a vast variety of calls that include, but are not limited to, basic first aid, medical emergencies, security emergencies, and calls for assistance.
If you require medical assistance, DO NOT GO TO THE NURSING BUILDING. You can come to the Safety & Security Office in Room 5102 (first floor of FOSS) or call campus security and an officer will come to you.
To reach our team during business hours, call 206-546-4633, or visit the Safety & Security Office in the Foss Building, Room 5102.
After hours or if the office does not answer, the on-duty Campus Security Officer can be reached at 206-235-5860
Courtesy Services Our department provides vehicle lockout assistance, vehicle jumpstarts, security escorts, and more!

There are stations across campus that provide free naloxone (opioid overdose medication), fentanyl testing strips, and educational information in accordance with House Bill 2112 (23-24). These supplies are provided at no cost to students, staff, and community members. Please take only what you need. These are located in the Counseling Center, Bldg. 9000 2nd Floor Restrooms, Bldg. 6000 1st Floor Avanti vending area, Bldg. 4000 outside the main entrance, Bldg. 4000 outside of the 2nd Floor Restrooms, and Bldg. 7000 2nd Floor Elevator Lobby (resident access required).

If you witness or observe concerning behavior or posts on social media, report it to Campus Security by calling the office or after-hours number.
