NaNoWriMo Kickoff Party: Library

The library is hosting a late night event for National Novel Writing Month. If you haven’t heard, NaNoWriMo is all about writing a 10,000-word novel in just one month and those who attend the party will get a chance to start writing when the clock strikes midnight. Fill out character sheets, do some outlining, and meet others who are prepared to take on the month-long challenge!

Transfer 101- Focus on UW and Out-of-State Universities: PUB 9208
Wed., Nov. 1: 3-4 pm
Transfer 101 is intended for first-year students and will focus on getting into top-ranked universities mostly out-of-state. We will look at the big picture, how to plan, and what to be thinking about ahead of time for transfer.

Come on out and support our women’s volleyball team as they take on Bellevue at home at 7 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 1. The first 100 Shoreline students, staff, and faculty through the door receive a free t-shirt, popcorn, and drink.

Join us for our 20th Annual Student Success Breakfast on Thursday, November 2. The event kicks off at 7:00 a.m. and includes a delicious breakfast, inspirational stories from scholarship recipients, live music from Shoreline’s own Funk & Groove, and emceed by Jim Dever of KING5 TV.
Diverse Voices in the Military: Vietnam and Current Eras Veterans Panel: PUB 9208

What have been the challenges faced by women and racial & ethnic minorities in the military over time and how have they overcome or otherwise dealt with these challenges? How has their service, return home, and commemoration of their service been similar or different? This discussion is being planned in collaboration with Veterans Services.
