Nominate Student Leaders- Deadline May 3rd!This year Student Life will be hosting the Student Leadership Awards on May 25th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the PUB Main Dining Room.
This will be an opportunity for us to celebrate the end of the year and recognize the outstanding work of individuals, clubs, and programs.
The nomination form for this year’s awards is now live and all nominations are due on Wednesday May 3rd.
Please note that while we have multiple awards focused on recognizing clubs and their leaders, this year’s awards will also include opportunities to recognize programs/other groups and students who have participated in any kinds of leadership, advocacy, and/or community service activities (on or off-campus). Anyone is welcome to submit nominations and there’s no limit to how many people or groups you can nominate.
Get your paint brushes ready, the QTPOC (Queer and Trans People of Color) Club is hosting an event to customize canvas tote bags! This casual arts-and-crafts session will give QTPOC students an opportunity to unleash their creativity, use their hands, and build community. *Materials provided*
Wiki (or ‘quick’ in the Hawaiian language) Wednesday in-person drop-in advising sessions are a great opportunity to ask quick questions.
The API Student Center’s academic advisor, Tasha Nālei Jugas, provides 10-minute advising sessions every Wednesday from 10am – 12pm and 12:30pm – 2:30pm, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sign up for the Wiki Wednesday sessions using the kiosk in the Center.
All other weekdays, other API Center staff and peer mentors are available during the Center’s operating hours to assist students.

Join Student Life for “Neon Night” this Friday, a fun black light dance that’s been years in the making! We’ll have a photo booth, games, glow decorations & accessories, and food, all for free!
We’ll also be providing a free shuttle to and from the E-Line from 6:00-10:00 pm.
Students are also invited to come to the 7000 Great Room for a “Get Ready With Us” party from 5:00-6:30 pm, hope to see you there!
Celebrate the grand opening of the Queer and Trans People of Color Club! During this initial meeting/mixer we will be providing a safe space for queer POC students to chat, get to know one another, find community, and plan for future club events. Food will be provided, including vegetarian and vegan options. Catering will be Hawaiin-Korean fusion food provided by Marination, a queer Asian-owned restaurant. Come hang out with us!
Shoreline CC Science division, Continuing /Education and Kids in Medicine (KIM), to bring this advanced lab program to local middle and high school students. The program is taught by medical professionals from KIMSeattle on early-release Wednesdays. Each week involves 30 minutes of lecture followed by 90 minutes of extensive lab work.
5th – 8th grade March 15th and 29th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on early release days
Week 1 – Heart dissection/medical devices
Week 2 – Forensic Wildlife Skull Identification
9th – 12th grade March 1st and 8th from 1:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on early release days
Week 1 – Forensic Facial Reconstruction
Week 2 – Micro Pipetting and DNA Gel Electrophoresis
Kids in Medicine (KIM), is an interactive education program designed to captivate and inspire young learners toward a future in science or medicine. Students receive enriching instruction to extend their knowledge and complete real laboratory experiences traditionally reserved for medical professionals. Every program and lab explores a particular career cluster, exposing students to a broad category of occupations grouped by knowledge and skills required – connecting learning to life goals.
