Learn to Weave: One-Day Workshop with Continuing Education
Looking for a creative break from your studies? Join Shoreline Community College’s Learn to Weave on a Tabletop Loom workshop and discover the art of weaving in just one day. Whether you’re new to fiber arts or looking to expand your skills, this hands-on class will teach you the basics, including loom setup, color changes, and finishing techniques. By the end of the session, you’ll have woven your own cotton washcloths and gained the skills to create scarves, pillow covers, towels, and more.
The class includes weaving supplies and handouts, though students must bring a scissor, pen, and three balls of 100% cotton yarn in suitable colors for stripes or plaids. Participants may also bring their own assembled rigid heddle loom with a 7.5 or 8 dent heddle. Open to students 15+ and adults of all ages, this workshop is a great way to de-stress, get creative, and learn a new skill.
