Multi-stall All-Gender Restrooms Coming to Shoreline Campus!
On April 5th, the College Council heard a student presentation for a plan to introduce multi-stall, all-gender restrooms to four (4) restrooms at Shoreline Community College campus. The College Council made a recommendation to the Executive Team. On April 19th, the Executive Team made a recommendation to the president who approved the all-gender restroom plan and will move forward with developing a firm timeline for the construction project and communications.
This plan will include upgrading the first floor PUB restrooms, both men’s and women’s into a multi-stall, all-gender restroom which will require updated signage and construction. The plan also included upgrading of a restroom in the 2900 building and the 1800 building. This plan was generated after many hours of research and work by the Associated Student Government and members of the ASG were instrumental in this effort and the All-Gender Restroom Proposal.
President Cheryl Roberts praised the students for providing such good information to the College Council by saying, “I want to lend my voice to the chorus of praise to the students for doing such an outstanding presentation representing the issue to College Council. It was personal, well-researched and persuasively presented in a way that kept everyone engaged and wanting to support the multi-stall, all-gender restroom proposal.”
