Recently, notice went out of a class action settlement in a case involving Shoreline Community College. Because some of you may have received this notification, we wanted to provide you with some information.
On March 20, 2023, Shoreline Community College experienced a cybersecurity incident that impacted campus functions. During the investigation of that incident, we confirmed that documents involved in the incident included personal information of our students, staff, and faculty. We notified those individuals in April 2023.
In January 2024, a class action lawsuit was filed against the College arising out of the March 2023 cybersecurity incident. Following mediation in June 2024, the parties agreed to settle the claims in the lawsuit. Some of you may have already received notice about this settlement. Notices are being sent via U.S. Mail and/or email to all class members.
