The staff of Spindrift, the annual art and literary journal of Shoreline Community College, is pleased to announce the publication of Spindrift 2020. This issue, its 54th, is a carefully curated selection of fine art, photography, poetry, short stories, essays, music, videos, and more, by contributors from all over the world. New in this year’s issue are audio recordings of a selection of literary pieces, accessible by QR code.
Normally published in May each year, Spindrift 2020 encountered significant delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For months it was unclear when, how, or even if the journal would be published. In a fortunate turn of events, this year’s issue was finally brought into print; many collegiate journals have not been so lucky. Our experience was distilled into the art and design of the cover, a subtle reference to the present and foreseeable future of invisible challenges and self-quarantines.
In the past, distribution channels were limited. Now, for the first time ever, Spindrift is available through a local bookstore and online (details below), so our art and literature doesn’t have to know the boundaries that we do.
