Summer camps for youth start this week on campus!

Athletics, Science and Visual Arts departments have summer camps on campus this summer, as well as community partners Shorelake Arts and more!

Expect to see more little kiddos and parents arriving on campus –  please assist with directions if they look lost.Some camps and youth classes still have space so please share with friends and neighbors.

Hello Campus Community,

Seattle City Light will be shutting down power to the campus on 7/10 to run power to HSAMCC.  The shutdown will occur from 10pm to 4am.  The following buildings have a generator; 1000, 4000, 2900 (north end), and 7000 (limited to hallways and open areas).  Maintenance will be onsite during this time to assist Seattle City Light.

  • Portraits are an essential part of every student artist’s portfolio. Join Teaching Artist Fergus Temporada to learn the tools to capture the human face on paper.

Draw, Paint, Stitch and Cut (August 21-25 – Grades 6-8)

  • Spend a fun week creating mixed media and textile works. Draw, paint, cut, tear, and stamp as you create collages, felt objects, and frame loom tapestries.

Shoreline Community College Athletics is gearing up for their summer youth and high school sport camps.

Basketball camps for 4th – 8th grade and high school players start next week in the Shoreline Community College gymnasium. Some new summer friends are posted on lawn signs around campus waiting to be found! Snap a selfie with each sign and send it to Student Life on Instagram (@scc_studentlife) to be entered for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. The contest runs from Monday, July 3 to Friday, July 14; limit 4 photos per student.

It’s the first day of the Summer Quarter, so that means it’s time for Welcome Week!

Kick off the start of summer quarter and stop by Welcome Week tables on Wednesday, July 5 & Thursday, July 6 from 12-2pm in the PUB Courtyard. Grab a snack before or after class, play some lawn games, and do some tie dye with Student Life! Don’t miss your chance to pick up free treats and other goodies!

Dear Campus Community,

Just a few friendly reminders about parking permits this summer.

  • Permits are not required between quarters (June 20 – July 2). Illegal, hazardous, electric vehicle charging, and reserved (Parent Child Center, Visitor Lot, Facilities, Emergency Vehicle, etc.) parking is still enforced.
  • Summer Quarter will start with a grace period (July 3 – 14) where vehicles will not receive citations for permit violations. Illegal, hazardous, electric vehicle charging, and reserved (Parent Child Center, Visitor Lot, Facilities, Emergency Vehicle, etc.) parking is still enforced.
  • Permits will be required, and all parking regulations will be enforced from July 17 – August 24.
